How many members are in the Association?
We are a new and growing organization! SMAMA was founded in 2006. We are a not-for-profit organization and currently have 18 business members.
What are the borders for SMAMA?
SMAMA businesses are on South Michigan Avenue between Roosevelt Road and Cermak Road—i.e. 1200 South Michigan to 2200 South Michigan.
What is the fee to become a member?
The annual fee is 200.00 per business member. The business is the member—all employees can become active SMAMA members. The individual company can decide on who participates.
What are the membership benefits?
- Building business relationships through monthly meetings that are informal, relaxed, and very informative.
- Co-marketing efforts to reduce the costs of your individual business
marketing by marketing efforts through the organization:
- Direct Mail piece including individual business listing sent to the 60605/60616 area residents for the cost of 50.00.
- Additional ad space available for 250.00.
- Website: www.smama.org. Complimentary business listing. There will be additional options to enhance your listing by sponsoring or advertising at additional costs.
- Participating in fund raising events to promote partnerships with area Chicago charities.
- Having a voice in the future planning and protecting of the integrity of the business district which you as a business owner have an invested interest.

SMAMA is a very diverse group of retailers, not-for-profit organizations, health care providers, exercise facilities, salons, and more.
